Terry is from the north-east of England. Born in South Shields, he now lives near Saltburn by the Sea on the North Yorkshire coast.
At the age of 50, he decided to leave a long career in financial services. This included a spell as a stockbroker during which he survived the market crash of1987. He is at pains to point out that he did not cause it.
Disillusioned with financial services and not wishing to be remembered solely for ‘a cracking remortgage’, he set up his own touring theatre company. It embodied his great interest in acting, performing, writing and directing for amateur companies over many years.
His love of performance and a conviction that drama is the best form of communication, propelled Team Players Theatre Company through 15 years of touring. He still visits schools with storytelling and silly poetry workshops.
Terry is also 50% of a popular street theatre act - Jean & Morag, Tea Ladies - who regularly flaunt themselves in front of the Great British Public, whilst dispensing tea, biscuits and banter from their touring tricycle.
Terry's passion for historical research has prompted him to qualify as a professional freelance journalist and . . . an involvement in Live Interpretation of historical characters.
He has Enhanced Disclosure DBS certification and Public Liability Insurance cover through his membership of Equity.
He has not completed a Lifting and Handling Course so is not permitted to lift anything heavier than a bacon sandwich or a pint of beer.
But he has buttons! Useful if you need to know about any of the above activities. So go click the blue rectangles. They don't look a bit like buttons, but go with the flow and pretend they are!
